FIND OUT WHAT YOUR STUDENTS FIND CHALLENGING WHAT THEY FIND EASY!

This Physical Activity Challenge Check Poster was created to meet the SHAPE America’s Standard 5 GLO strand S5.E2 that addresses the need for students to compare physical activity that brings them challenge and/or confidence. Teachers ask students the 2 questions: 1. Which Activities are Challenging for me? and 2. Which Activities are Easy for me? Students simply indicate the activities by pointing to or touching the pictures and words on the visual. This can be done during class or as an exit check as students leave PE class.

SHAPE America Standard 5 states that the physically literate individual recognizes the value of physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression and/or social interaction. The Physical Activity Challenge Check Poster visual has a direct correlation to Standard 5 by giving students the chance to self-reflect by
indicating activities that they either find challenging or easy for them .

The poster can also “spark” a conversation with students about the vast ways we as physical educators want them to “MOVE THEIR BODIES” outside of PE class. The examples, in the poster, were used to compliment the SHAPE standards and the graphics are fun for students to look at! The PDF file includes 5 different header colors to match your school’s gym colors or your personal style.

The posters are in a PDF format (originally set for 8 ½ by 11 sheets) but they can easily be copied on a school or store Poster-Maker to convert to a large sized poster. You can then place the visual somewhere near your PE exit door at a level that students can easily touch an activity that they will do later that day.
