The Floss Dance Instructional PE poster was developed as a visual to help students learn how to perform the “trendy” floss dance. The Floss or Flossing is a dance move in which a person swings their arms, with clenched fists, from the back to the front of their bodies on each side and do these movements repeatedly. Students really enjoy performing this dance and this visual poster serves as an instructional aid for those that want to learn the step-by-step movements. 

The Floss Dance became viral after a Saturday Night Live performance of Katy Perry's music Swish Swish and has since become a trend among children and teens, and has been performed by celebrities in videos. Flossing is featured in the 2018 video game Fortnite, as a victory animation performed by the characters

The instructional poster breaks the Floss Dance into 6 steps with a starting position and transitional frame. The images are kid-friendly and the 6 step instructions were written to be brief, clear and easy to follow. Students can learn the dance in a large or small group instructional setting or with a partner in a station format. 

The poster has 9 color combination options and come in a Zip folder with 2 Formats- PDF and JPEG. It was originally set for 8 ½ by 11 sheets but can easily be copied on a school or store Poster-Maker to convert to a large sized poster. You can then place it inside your gym or playing area (or as a station) for your students to see and for you to reference while you teach your PE lessons.
