Need a quick way to get students moving the moment they walk into class? These 20 Halloween instant activity signs give students a simple task to start on right away, with no waiting and no long directions.
Each sign has a short movement direction and a Halloween character that shows the activity. Post one at the door as students arrive, or set up several around the room as quick warm-up stations.

The Activities
Walk the Lines, 4 Corner Fitness (Walk, Gallop, Hop, Crab Walk), 4 Corner Fitness (Jump, Skip, Slide Step, Jog), Skip and Touch the Walls, Zombie Shuffle Dance, Walk-Jog Around the Cones, Freeze Walk, Hurdle the Pumpkins, Jumping Jack Challenge, Scooter Board Treat Carry, Jump Rope Forward and Backward, Hula Hoop Twirl, Beanbag Toss and Catch, Partner Throw and Catch, Balloon Volley, Scarf Juggling, Soccer Dribble, Basketball Dribble on the Lines, Basketball Shooting, and Paddle Strike Against the Wall.
What Students Practice
Locomotor skills: walking, jogging, skipping, galloping, hopping, sliding, hurdling, and crab walking
Manipulative skills: tossing, catching, throwing, volleying, juggling, dribbling, shooting, and striking
Fitness: jumping jacks, star jumps, tuck jumps, and jump rope
Rhythm: dancing to Halloween music
Equipment
Several signs need no equipment at all. The rest use common PE equipment such as cones, beanbags, hoops, jump ropes, scooter boards, balls, balloons, scarves, and paddles. Grocery bags work in place of juggling scarves.
How to Use It
Choose one sign for the day and post it at the door so students start moving as soon as they arrive. Change the sign each class to keep things fresh in the weeks before Halloween. The signs also work as short warm-up stations or as brain breaks in the classroom.
