The PE- Concentration; Winter Locomotor Movement Activity using the Memory Cards makes an ideal Winter PE activity that is cooperative, fun and healthy! This package includes a complete Activity Plan and 32 different matching Winter-related Memory Cards. The Activity Plan is complete with the activity set-up, equipment needed, teacher directions, SHAPE America standards and a graphic depicting the activity. There are 32 Memory Cards that students will venture out to find that include many winter-related images such as skiers, snowflakes and snowboards. Small groups work together to collect the winter memory card matches, while they move around the gym or classroom.
 
The PE- Concentration- Winter Locomotor Movement Activity (with cut out memory cards) is ideal for a physical education or classroom teacher to use in the springtime of the school year. The Memory Cards look great and are a “breeze” to use and they can also be easily incorporated into many of your current fitness-based warmups and activities. The activity plan and winter memory cards provided in this packet were created to be “FUN” and your students will ask you to bring them out every year during Winter months!
 
SETTING UP THE WINTER MEMORY CARDS
 
Photocopy and laminate the Quarter Page, Winter Memory Cards
Cut out the individual cards and keep them in a large baggie
Copy and laminate the PE Concentration Activity Plan located in a separate folder in the zip folder
Place the Winter Icon Memory Cards in the appropriate starting spot (according to the activity plan) prior to your students arriving
Play music to bring “life” to the activity
Use the activity a few times during the winter months
Create new activities using the Winter Icon Memory Cards as they are easily adaptable to several fun PE activities
