⭐ ASSESS THE EQUIPMENT SKILLS STUDENTS LOVE WITH ONE CONSISTENT RUBRIC SYSTEM
Jump ropes, hula hoops, juggling scarves, stacking cups, scooter boards, and the parachute are the equipment students ask for by name. They're also the units most likely to go unassessed, because they feel more like play than skill work.
This bundle changes that. It gives you 10 complete assessment packets for those skills, each with six cues, four formats, and one scoring rubric, so your most popular units produce real skill data.
🎯 PURPOSE AND BENEFITS OF THIS BUNDLE
Give your favorite units real accountability. When students know exactly what a good long rope turn or a three-object cascade looks like, the activity becomes a skill lesson, not free time.
Assess the group skills, not just the individual ones. Long rope turning, parachute play, and game play depend on students working together. These sheets give you a structured way to assess cooperation and teamwork alongside movement.
Build a progression into your equipment units. Two-object juggling leads into the three-object cascade, and long rope jumping pairs with long rope turning. The packets let you assess each step on the way.
📋 THE 10 SKILLS IN THIS BUNDLE
Ropes & Hoops: Jumping Rope • Long Rope Jumping • Long Rope Turning • Twirling a Hula Hoop
Juggling & Stacking: Two-Object X Pattern Juggling • Three-Object Cascade Juggling • Cup Stacking
Scooters & Group Play: Riding a Scooter Board • Parachute Play • Game Play Skills & Teamwork
Every skill has six cues, and each cue is paired with an illustrated figure showing the correct position.
💡 TEACHING NOTES FOR THIS BUNDLE
At a long rope station, you can assess three students at once. The two turners use the Long Rope Turning sheet, and the jumper uses Long Rope Jumping. Then rotate everyone through both roles.
Teach Two-Object X Pattern Juggling before the Three-Object Cascade, and assess it first. Most students who struggle with three objects haven't yet mastered the two-object pattern.
For cup stacking, assess form before you bring out a timer. Once students start racing the clock, technique usually breaks down.
Parachute play is one of the few activities where the whole class performs a skill together, which makes it a natural fit for a teacher Single Test while you scan the circle.
Standards: SHAPE America Standard 1 for nine skills. Game Play Skills & Teamwork aligns to SHAPE America Standard 3.
✅ KEY FEATURES OF THIS BUNDLE
FOUR COMPLETE ASSESSMENT FORMATS FOR EVERY SKILL: Teacher Pre-Test/Post-Test, Teacher Single Test, Self-Assessment, and Peer-Assessment. All four share the same six cues, the same visuals, and the same scoring rubric. Only the voice changes, so you can compare results across formats directly.
ONE SYSTEM ACROSS ALL 11 SKILLS: Every packet uses the same layout, response columns, and medal scale. Students spend their time on the skill, not on learning a new sheet.
SIMPLE RESPONSE COLUMNS: Students and teachers circle "got it" or "working on it." There's no rating scale to explain.
REFLECTION PROMPTS: The self and peer sheets close with "What did I do well?" and "What can I work on?"
BUNDLE BONUS, AN EDITABLE EXCEL DATA GRADING SHEET: It's included as a separate file and isn't available with the individual packets. Use it to track scores by class and skill in one place.

🏆 WHY THESE RUBRICS WORK IN A REAL PE CLASS
CLEAR EXPECTATIONS: Students see exactly what they're being assessed on before they're assessed on it, so the cues become the lesson.
CONSISTENT EVALUATION: The same structure across 11 skills means your data compares from unit to unit and year to year.
STUDENT OWNERSHIP: Self and peer versions move students from being assessed to assessing. A student checking a partner's follow-through is learning that cue too.
STANDARDS-BASED REPORTING: The scoring rubric produces a defensible number for report cards and conversations with administrators.
PE Assessment Bundle: PE Equipment, Juggling & Group Play | Teacher/Self/Peer
